Uncertainty about the validity and authenticity of certificates creates stress among users, who turn to third-party validators due to the complexity of manual verification.

What is it?

It is a portal for any user, whether Alegra or not, to use to check the status and whether they have the correct files that make up their CSD.

Added value

This tool aims to make it easier for users to confirm the authenticity and validity of their electronic certificates, simplifying tax compliance and reinforcing user confidence in Alegra.

Goals

The design Process

This case study required a quick and easy solution for users who need to validate their documents, under the assumption that they always need to validate under deadlines.

Design decisions were made based on direct user feedback (competitors tools too slow or paid), estimated conversion rates into new leads, and considerations about the scalability of the design. I made quick iterations with fast feedback.

We conducted a thorough analysis of the user journey map to determine the best spots to integrate eBay PPC ads.

While there are many options, asking for data early significantly reduces frustration for users who want to get information quickly, which increases lead capture rates.

Divide and conquer: We focus on one tool at a time

Our main challenge was to have a tool that encompasses both functionalities together. We explored the use of tabs to separate the tools. However, in usability testing, 60% of participants found the tabs confusing, mistaking them for switches.

Therefore, we chose to separate the tools into different landing pages. This way, users focus only on the tool they need and it also allows us to position ourselves better from an SEO perspective to obtain quality leads.

Mobile Later.

83% of Alegra users use the desktop version, though they can also log in via the mobile website.

Our interviews also show that new users prefer the desktop version when checking their documents, since their files are on their computer.

So we first designed the desktop version and then adapted the mobile version based on the desktop design.
